“From the mouth of the Missouri to that of the river Platte, a distance of more than six hundred miles, the land is generally of a good quality, with a sufficient quantity of timber; in many places very rich, and the country pleasant and beautiful” (Moulton, vol. 10, p. 94). -of Expidition

No Little Bull

We stopped at the Lewis & Clark interpretive center on the banks of the Missouri River, and got back on the road.  We'd been driving since Columbia, MO and at 8pm we we're driving across the grassy plains when we saw a giant bull's head in a distant field.

Wayne, the sculptor, started welding farm implements and old car parts in 1983, and is still going strong.  So are the mosquitos when the wind subsides.

Wayne waits for visitors - we were the 2nd of the day - reads and listens to NPR.  Sharing his life philosophy costs $1 extra - no bull!
